Kelas Ophiuroidea (daripada bahasa Latin ophiurus daripada bahasa Yunani Kuno ὄφις óphis bererti "ular" dan οὐρά ourá bererti "ekor" menggambarkan lengan-lengan haiwan ini menyerupai ular) terdiri daripada spesies-spesies ekinoderma berkait rapat dengan tapak sulaiman yang merangkak atas dasar laut menggunakan lengan yang panjang dan fleksibel. Setiap ekor spesies ini umum mempunyai lima lengan halus seperti cemeti yang boleh mencapai sehingga 60 sm (24 inci) panjang pada spesimen terbesar.

Lebih 2,000 spesies dalam kelas ini masih wujud pada hari ini dengan lebih daripada 1,200 spesies ditemui di perairan lebih dalam daripada 200 m.[1] Sebanyak 44 spesies kelas ini dapat dikenalpasti sekitar pulau Singapura sahaja.[2]
