Bahasa pertama

Bahasa pertama adalah bahasa yang pertama dipelajari oleh seorang manusia, iaitu bahasa ibundanya. Dia dipanggil penutur asli bahasa ini menurut Leonard Bloomfield.[1]

Bahasa pertama atau bahasa asli adalah asas untuk identiti sosiolinguistik seseorang.[2]

Dalam linguistik bahasa pertama boleh dirujuk sebagai bahasa nadi, bahasa ibunda, atau L1.
