Vasaros laikas

Vasaros laikas – vietinis tam tikro regiono laikas, trunkantis tam tikrą metų periodą ir paprastai besiskiriantis nuo įprastinio (dažniausiai juostinio laiko) viena valanda. Pirminė šio laiko įvedimo paskirtis – efektyviau išnaudoti dienos šviesą.

Mėlynai pažymėtos teritorijos, kuriose naudojamas vasaros laikas Šiaurės pusrutulyje, oranžine spalva – naudojamas vasaros laikas Pietų pusrutulyje, Pilka spalva – buvo naudotas anksčiau, tamsiai pilka – niekada nenaudotas

Vasaros laikas naudojamas visose Europos valstybėse (išskyrus Islandiją, Rusiją, Baltarusiją). Laikas persukamas viena valanda į priekį visose valstybėse vienu metu (1:00 UTC) paskutinį kovo sekmadienį ir atsukamas atgal paskutinį spalio sekmadienį.

Vasaros laikas naudojamas daugelyje JAV ir Meksikos valstijų, beveik visoje Kanadoje, Australijoje, kitose šalyse. Persukimo laikas įvairus, bet dažniausiai Šiaurės pusrutulyje laikas pastumiamas pirmyn 2:00 valandą nakties paskutinį kovo sekmadienį, o atsukamas atgal paskutinį spalio sekmadienį, Pietų pusrutulyje – atvirkščiai.

Lietuvoje vasaros laikas buvo taikytas 1981–1989 m., panaikintas 2000 m., o nuo 2003 m. sausio 1 d. įvestas antrosios laiko juostos laikas, taikant vasaros laiką. Kaip ir daugumoje valstybių, jis įvedamas kovo paskutinį sekmadienį, trečią valandą nakties persukant laikrodžio rodykles valandą į priekį, o atšaukiamas spalio paskutinį sekmadienį, ketvirtą valandą nakties atsukant laikrodžio rodykles valandą atgal.

Pirmą kartą ES mastu dėl vasaros laiko įvedimo buvo sutarta 1980 m. 2019 m. Europos Parlamentas pritarė pasiūlymui, kad šalys narės laiko nebesukiotų nuo 2021 metų.[1]

Istorija

Pirmą kartą vasaros laiką pasiūlė įvesti 1895 m. anglų kilmės mokslininkas entomologas Džordžas Hadsonas (George Vernon Hudson).[2] Dažnai tokio pasiūlymo pradininko laurai priskiriami Viljamui Viletui (William Willett) 1907 m. parašiusio straipsnį „Dienos šviesos švaistymas“ („Waste of Daylight“), kuris nepriklausomai nuo Hadsono iš naujo sugalvojo vasaros laiko idėją.[3] Ilgą laiką tokie pasiūlymai nesusilaukė vyriausybių dėmesio.

Pirmą kartą vasaros laikas panaudotas Pirmojo pasaulinio karo metu Vokietijoje (nuo 1916 m. balandžio 30 d. iki 1916 m. spalio 1 dienos), šiek tiek vėliau panaudotas ir Jungtinėje Karalystėje (1916 m. gegužės 21 iki 1916 m. spalio 1 d.). 1918 metų gegužę vasaros laikas įvestas JAV, tačiau galiojo tik metus.[4] Per Antrąjį pasaulinį karą taupant resursus JAV vėl įvedė vasaros laiką 1942 metais.
