Lėvuõ – upė šiaurės Lietuvoje, 140 km ilgio (12-oji pagal ilgį Lietuvos upė), Mūšos dešinysis intakas.

Prasideda Kupiškio rajone – išteka iš Lėvenaičio ežero, 8 km į šiaurės rytus nuo Skapiškio. Teka vakarų kryptimi pro Palėvenėlę, Kupiškį (užtvenkta upė sudaro Kupiškio marias), Subačių. Tekėdamas į šiaurę nuo Panevėžio, Lėvuo pasuka vagą šiaurėn, prateka tarp Pumpėnų ir Pušaloto, o už Pasvalio įteka į Mūšą 50 km nuo jos susiliejimo su Nemunėliu.

Santaka su Svalia (priekyje) Pasvalyje

Lėvens kraštovaizdžio draustinyje, tarp Kupiškio ir Kunčių, yra raiškus fliuvioglacialinis (susijęs su tirpstančio ledyno tekančių vandenų veikla) slėnis, jame yra gamtos paminklas – Stirniškių dolomito atodanga[2].

Žymesni tiltai: Karsakiškio tiltas, Paliūniškio tiltas, Pasvalio geležinkelio tiltas.

Savybės

Vaga nuo ištakos iki Naniškių reguliuota ir tiesi, apie 5–6 m pločio, o nuo Naniškių iki Kupiškio tvenkta ir sudaro minėtas Kupiškio marias – ketvirtą pagal dydį dirbtinį vandens telkinį Lietuvoje. Nereguliuota upės vaga vingiuota, plotis kinta nuo 16 iki 35 m, gylis – nuo 0,7 iki 3,1 m[2]. Vidutinis nuolydis – 0,52 m/km, o srovės greitis – 0,2–0,3 m/s. Vidutinis vandens debitas ties Kupiškiu – 1,79 m³/s, didžiausias – 92 m³/s; ties Pasvaliu vidutinis – 6,5 m³/s, o didžiausias – 274 m³/s[2]. Vandens debitas žemiau Bernatonių sumažėja perpus, nes ties Sanžilės kanalu iš Lėvens į Nevėžį vidutiniškai nuteka vidutiniškai 3,29 m³/s[2]. Vidutinis debitas žiotyse – apie 7 m³/s. Upės vandens lygis per metus svyruoja nuo 1,6 iki 3,7 m.

Upėje yra 29 salos (neįskaitant tvenkinių), jų dažnumas – 0,19 vnt./km, daugiausiai sutinkamos vidurupyje, vagos viduryje[4]. Iš viso salos užima 7,8 ha plotą (vid. plotas – 0,27 ha, didž. iki 2 ha), todėl, lyginant su bendru Lėvens upės plotu, salingumas – 3,4 %[4]. 37,9 % salų sudaro atskeltinės senvaginės, likusią dalį – vaginės[4].

Etimologija

Žodis „lėvuo“ taip pat reiškia šlapią, pelkėtą, klampią vietą, tikrinis vardas giminingas latvių kalbos bendriniam žodžiui lēvenis 'liūnas, klampynė'.
