県（繁体字表記：縣、発音：xiàn、英語：county）は、中華民国の地方行政組織の一つ。現在の台湾の地方行政組織として存在しているが、もともとは国民政府が中国大陸にあった時の地方制度がそのまま台湾に持ち込まれたものである。

日本の地方制度は、都道府県（ないし政令指定都市）と市町村との「二層構造」であるのに対し、台湾（中華民国）の地方制度は、省・直轄市、県・市、県轄市・鎮・郷の「三層構造」となっている。日本でも明治時代には府県と市町村との間に「郡」が府県と市町村の間の自治体として機能していたが、台湾の県はこれに該当するといえる。

1998年に、県の上位に位置する台湾省が虚省化（事実上の機能停止）されたため、台湾の地方行政制度は日本のような二層構造に近づいている（福建省も虚省化された）が、省が得ていた税収に関して、直轄市である台北市や高雄市は相当分を市財政として使えるのに対して、県や市では中央政府に取られるなど、財政上の格差が残っている[1]。こうした格差への不満から、いくつかの自治体は直轄市への昇格を望んでいる。

1 北京政府、または国民政府・中華民国政府が中央政府機構を1年以上設置した実績のある都市。なお、1925年 - 1928年は北京政府と国民政府の並立期間。

2 国共内戦（大陳島撤退作戦）にともない中華民国政府の実効支配地域が変更された最後の年。

3 行政改革によって行政機関としての機能は2018年までに消滅。ただし、中華民国憲法と中華民国憲法増修條文の上では廃止されていない。

4 この行の記載は、行政院新聞局が2005年に刊行した「中華民國九十四年年鑑」に基づく。

5 「中華民國九十四年年鑑」が刊行された年。これ以降、中華民国政府は大陸地区の範囲・行政区分に関する公告を発表していない。

6 全域が台湾地区に属する。

7 金馬地区が台湾地区に、それ以外の地区が大陸地区に属する。

8 モンゴル人民共和国（現在のモンゴル国）の独立を承認したため、1946年に廃止。その後モンゴルの独立承認を取り消したため、1953年に復活。2002年にモンゴルの独立を再び承認。
