堺区の西部に位置する。南西は出島浜通・出島海岸通・出島町、南東は新在家町西・南旅篭町西・南半町西、北西は大浜西町、北東は大浜中町に接する。南東から順に一丁から三丁がある。

歴史

沿革

  • 1922年（大正11年）、堺市南附洲新田の一部より、大浜南町成立。
  • 1940年（昭和15年）、一部を出島町1 - 2丁に編入。
  • 1959年（昭和34年）、一部が大浜北町1 - 5丁・大浜中町1 - 3丁・出島町1 - 5丁となり、同時に出島町1 - 5丁の一部を編入[6]。
  • 2006年（平成18年）、堺市が政令指定都市に移行し、行政区を設置。大浜南町は堺区の所属となる。
