Palaeoannelida Weigert & Bleidorn, 2016 è un clade proposto di anellidi che riunisce le famiglie Magelonidae e Oweniidae.[1] È il clade fratello degli altri anellidi, e presenta specie nei mari di tutto il mondo.
Descrizione
Le caratteristiche che accomunano Magelonidae e Oweniidae e che li distinguono dagli altri anellidi sono il prostomio e il peristomio fusi insieme, l'assenza di un organo nucale, un organo buccale posizionato ventralmente e un'epidermide monociliata, cioè in cui ogni cellula cigliata presenta un solo ciglio.[2][3]
Tassonomia
Diversi studi filogenetici molecolari e anatomici indicano che Palaeoannelida si sia separato alla base dell'albero filogenetico degli anellidi.[1]
