Arturo Meraviglia ha ereditato dal padre un teatro con una compagnia circense. Travolto dai debiti, è diventato impresario, ma è rimasto solamente con il più scarso fra i suoi comici, Gianni Pochi Pochi e la sua assistente, Kaori. Un giorno riceve un'eredità da un lontano zio, illudendosi di poter saldare tutti i debiti, ritrovandosi invece a dover occuparsi di due bambini: Gioele e Rebecca, che si trovano presso un collegio in Svizzera.
Arrivati i due figli dello zio defunto a Napoli, inizia una convivenza difficile tra i tre, condita da momenti divertenti ma anche di riflessione, fino a quando si scoprirà che il piccolo Gioele è dotato di uno straordinario potere di telecinesi e che a causa del suo potere viene perseguitato da un gruppo di ricercatori della Francia intenzionati a sottoporlo a un esperimento scientifico che ha lo scopo malevole di favorire Orazio Bollé trasferendo i poteri di Gioele e di altri bambini nella sua mente.
La pellicola è uscita nelle sale cinematografiche italiane il 31 ottobre 2019,[1] mentre in Spagna il 25 giugno 2021 con il titolo ¿Dónde está el truco?. La pellicola è nota in tutto il mondo con il titolo inglese The Most Beautiful Day in the World.
Il film ha incassato 2,9 milioni di euro nel primo fine settimana, diventati 6,3 milioni dopo quattro settimane.[2]
Paolo Mereghetti ha assegnato al film un voto pari a 3 definendola «una storia esile e infantile» che «fa acqua da tutte le parti».[3]
Trasmesso in prima serata su Canale 5 il 6 gennaio 2023, ai dati Auditel il film ha divertito 1.686.000 spettatori con uno share del 10,4%, risultando secondo solo a Rai 1.
