La contea di Hockley in inglese Hockley County è una contea dello Stato del Texas, negli Stati Uniti. La popolazione al censimento del 2010 era di 22 935 abitanti.[1] Il capoluogo di contea è Levelland.[2] La contea è stata creata nel 1876 dalle contee di Bexar e Young, ma non è stata organizzata fino al 1921.[3] Il suo nome deriva da George Washington Hockley (1802–1854), Capo di Stato Maggiore dell'esercito del Texas durante la rivoluzione texana e Segretario di guerra della Repubblica del Texas.
