Tikus yang Berubah Menjadi Gadis adalah sebuah fabel kuno asal India yang tersebar ke Eropa pada Abad Pertengahan dan juga Timur Jauh. Ceritanya adalah jenis Aarne-Thompson 2031C dalam daftar kisah kumulatifnya,[1] contoh lainnya adalah Suami Putri Tikus. Cerita tersebut mengisahkan pencarian pasangan melalui pergatian pihak yang lebih kuat, yang hanya diselesaikan dengan memilih pihak yang setara.

Analog Klasik dari fabel tersebut adalah Fabel Aesop "Venus dan Kucing", dimana seorang pria meminta dewi Venus untuk mengubah kucingnya menjadi seorang wanita. Fabel tersebut memiliki tema transformasi tak sempurna dan ketidakmungkinan pengubahan karkater. Kisah tersebut meraih beberapa perlakuan dalam sastra, cerita rakyat dan senir rupa.

Pelayan Tikus menjadi Tikus

Cerita tersebut ditemukan dalam Panchatantra terkait bagaimana seekor tikus jatuh dari paruh seekor burung pemangsa ke tangan orang suci, yang menjadikannya seorang gadis. Kemudian, ia mencarikannya pasangan namun menemukan bahwa setiap hal memiliki suatu hal yang lebih kuat darinya: awan dapat menutupi matahari, angin menghembuskan awan, angin terganggu oleh gunung, tetapi, gunung diganggu oleh tikus. Akibatnya, gadis tersebut kembali ke bentuk aslinya dan tinggal dengan suaminya di lubangnya.[2]
