Sukadewa (Dewanagari: शुकदेव; ,IAST: Śukadeva, शुकदेव) atau Suka (Dewanagari: शुक; ,IAST: Śuka, शुक) adalah nama seorang resi (petapa suci) dalam kepercayaan Hindu. Menurut pustaka suci Hindu, ia merupakan putra Resi Byasa, dan menjadi narator bagi kitab Bhagawatapurana. Sebagian besar isi naskah Bhagawatapurana terdiri dari kisah-kisah yang dituturkan Sukadewa kepada Raja Parikesit. Sukadewa dikisahkan sebagai seorang sanyasi, menolak kenikmatan duniawi demi mencapai kondisi moksa (kemerdekaan).[1]

Menurut wiracarita Hindu Mahabharata, setelah Byasa bertapa selama bertahun-tahun, Sukadewa tercipta dari sekobar api, terlahir dengan kesaktian dan pengetahuan suci Weda dalam dirinya, sebagaimana ayahnya. Menurut Skandapurana, Byasa memiliki istri bernama Watikā (alias Pinjalā), putri seorang resi bernama Jābāli. Kedua pasangan tersebut dikaruniai seorang putra, yang mengulang perkataan apa pun yang didengarnya, sehingga dinamai Suka yang secara harfiah berarti "betet".[2][3][4] Dalam pustaka lain seperti Dewibhagawatapurana juga terdapat kisah kelahiran Sukadewa tetapi dengan perbedaan drastis. Diceritakan bahwa Byasa menginginkan seorang keturunan, kemudian bidadari bernama Gretaci terbang di hadapannya dalam wujud kakaktua yang cantik, menyebabkan nafsu birahinya terangsang. Byasa mengeluarkan air mani yang kemudian berkembang menjadi seorang putra. Maka dari itu ia dinamai Suka, karena keberadaan kakatua sebelum kelahirannya.[5]
