Abuzed Omar Dorda (bahasa Arab: أبو زيد عمر دوردة) (4 April 1944 – 28 Februari 2022) adalah Sekretaris Jenderal Komite Rakyat (Perdana Menteri) Libya dari 7 Oktober 1990 sampai 29 Januari 1994, dan sebagai Perwakilan Permanen Libya untuk Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa dari 1997 sampai 2003.

Kehidupan dan karier

Dorda masuk politik sebagai Gubernur Distrik Misrata dari 1970 sampai 1972. Kemudian, ia menjabat sebagai Menteri Informasi dan Budaya sampai 1974, dan sebagai Menteri Tingkat Rendah Urusan Luar Negeri sampai 1976. Pada 1990, ia menjadi Perdana Menteri dan ia menjadi Perwakilan Permanen Libya di PBB pada 1997.

Pada 12 April 2009, Dorda dikabarkan diangkat menjadi kepala Mukhabarat el-Jamahiriya (badan intelijensi nasional) menggantikan Moussa Koussa.[1]

Pada 31 Maret 2011, ia dikabarkan berada di Tunisia, menunggu sebuah penerbangan darisana, dalam upaya membelot dari pemerintahan Gaddafi,[2] dan perang saudara Libya. Ia menjadi bagian dari lingkup dalam Gaddafi.[3] Ia ditangkap oleh pasukan NTC pada 11 September 2011.[4] Selama penahanannya, Dorda terluka parah (kedua kakinya patah) setelah jatuh dari jendela lantai dua penjara. Sementara keluarganya percaya ia selamat dari upaya pembunuhan, petugas penjara mengklaim ia mencoba bunuh diri.[5] Ia dibebaskan pada Februari 2019 karena alasan kesehatan dan langsung berangkat ke Tunisia.[6][7]

Pada Juni 2021, Dorda diduga bertemu dengan Khalifa Haftar di Kairo.[8]

Dorda meninggal dunia di Kairo pada 28 Februari 2022, pada usia 77 tahun.[9]
