'Linanthus', je rod s oko 26 vrsta malih jednogodišnjih biljaka i grmova koji rastu u zapadnoj Sjevernoj Americi (Sjedinjene Američke Države i Meksiko).[1]

Karakteristike

Linanthus je raznolik, ali taksonomski složen rod biljaka s nejasnim evolucijskim odnosima i čestim promjenama u klasifikaciji. To su sitne biljke; neke su zeljaste (jednogodišnje), a neke drvenaste (trajnice). Često se mogu zamijeniti s rodom Phlox, ali se razlikuju po građi listova i cvijeta. Taksonomija: Nekada je rod bio šire definiran, ali su mnoge vrste danas prebačene u rod Leptosiphon zbog genetskih istraživanja. Evolucijski odnosi unutar roda nisu potpuno jasni. Rod je blisko povezan s grupom koja uključuje Gymnosteris, Leptosiphon, Microsteris i Phlox.[2]

Rasprostranjenost:

Jednogodišnje vrste uglavnom u jugozapadnom dijelu SAD-a i poluotoku Baja California. Trajne (grmolike) vrste raširene u suhim i planinskim područjima zapadnog SAD-a.[2]
