Sažeti opis
Gymnosteris je mali rod s dvije vrste sitnih jednogodišnjih biljaka iz zapadne Sjeverne Amerike. Poseban je po tome što nema prave listove – fotosintezu obavljaju kotiledoni i pricvjetni listovi.[1]
Ima najmanji broj kromosoma u porodici Polemoniaceae i evolucijski je blizak rodovima Microsteris, Phlox i Leptosiphon. Najčešće raste u području Velikog bazena, a rod obuhvaća dvije vrste: G. nudicaulis i G. parvula.[1]
