קריירה

תיאטרון

קמפבל מופיע על במת התיאטרון במגוון רחב של תפקידים. היא הייתה פעמיים חברה בלהקה השייקספירית המלכותית. עם הלהקה שיחקה ב-1982 בתפקיד נורה הלמר בהפקה של אדריאן נובל למחזה "בית בובות" מאת איבסן. על הופעתה זו זכתה בפרס אוליבייה לשחקנית הטובה ביותר בהפקה מחודשת.[3] באותה שנה הופיעה גם בתפקיד דיאנה במחזה "סוף טוב הכול טוב".

בשנים 1992 עד 1994 חזרה קמפבל לעבוד עם הלהקה השייקספירית המלכותית, וגילמה את ליידי מקבת' לצדו של דרק ג'קובי בהפקה של נובל למחזה "מקבת'"; ביאטריס-ג'ואנה במחזה "The Changeling"; גברת פורד במחזה "נשות וינדזור העליזות"[2] ואת נטשה במחזה "Misha's Party".[1] קמפבל עבדה עם התיאטרון המלכותי הלאומי, ב-1975 שיחקה בתפקיד פרידה בהפקה של סר פיטר הול בתיאטרון האולד ויק למחזה "יון גבריאל בורקמן" בכיכובם של רלף ריצ'רדסון, דיים פגי אשקרופט ודיים ונדי הילר.[1] ב-1995 הופיעה בדמות ליידי פוליטיק ווד-בי במחזה "וולפונה" בבימויו של מתיו וורקוס. ב-2003 שיחקה בתפקיד דוטי אוטלי בסיבוב הופעות של התיאטרון הלאומי ובלונדון בהפקה של המחזה "Noises Off".[4]

מחוץ ללונדון שיחקה קמפבל במחזות: "The Country Wife" בתיאטרון מנצ'סטר רויאל אקסצ'נג' בתפקיד מרג'רי פינצ'ווייף; "The Constant Wife" בתיאטרון קלווייד בתפקיד קונסטנס; "חשמלית ושמה תשוקה" בתיאטרון לסטר היימרקט בדמות בלאנש (על הופעה זו זכתה בפרס Regional Theatre לשחקנית הטובה ביותר); וב-"So Long Life" בסיבוב הופעות בתפקיד ונדי.
