רוסלן סירוטה (נולד ב-4 בנובמבר 1980) הוא פסנתרן, מלחין, ומפיק מוזיקלי יהודי אוקראיני-ישראלי-אמריקאי זוכה פרס גראמי.[1][2]

ראשית חיים

סירוטה נולד באומן, אוקראינה למשפחה יהודית. אביו, יפים, שהיה גיטריסט מקומי פעיל, חשף אותו למוזיקה כבר בגיל צעיר. סירוטה החל לנגן בגיטרה בגיל ארבע, ועבר לפסנתר בסביבות גיל שבע. בשנת 1990 עלתה משפחתו לישראל, שם המשיך ללמוד פסנתר בבית הספר למוסיקה בת ים. בגיל 14, סירוטה גילה את הג'אז. עד גיל 16 הוא היה הקלידן של להקת הפיוז'ן הישראלית הפופולרית דאז, "Confusion". עם הלהקה הוא ערך מסע הופעות בישראל והופיע במספר הופעות בפסטיבל הג'אז בים האדום.[3]

בגיל 18, סירוטה נבחן עבור מכללת ברקלי למוזיקה, קיבל מלגת לימודים מלאה, ועבר לבוסטון בינואר 2000. במהלך לימודיו בברקלי, סירוטה גילה עניין הולך וגובר ב-R&B, פאנק ומוזיקת נשמה, ניגן עם אמנים מקומיים ובסופו של דבר הפך לקלידן המקומי במועדון בשם "Wally's Jazz Café".[3]

קריירה

בסביבות 2004, סירוטה הצטרף ללהקתו של הבסיסט סטנלי קלארק[4][5] ועבר ללוס אנג'לס. בכך סימן את תחילת הקריירה המקצועית שלו.[6][7][8] מאז, סירוטה מופיע ומקליט עם אמנים רבים, ביניהם: בלאק אייד פיז, סיל, ג'וש גרובן, ני-יו, ת'אנדרקאט, צ'יק קוריאה, ג'ורג' דיוק, מרקוס מילר, אל ג'ארו, ויקטור ווטן, והתזמורת הפילהרמונית של לוס אנג'לס.

ב-2010 סירוטה הקליט את האלבום כחבר בלהקתו של סטני קלארק את האלבום הנושא את שמם "The Stanley Clarke Band" (אנ'). עבור האלבום הלקה זכתה בטקס פרסי גראמי ה-53 בפרס גראמי בקטגוריית אלבום הג'אז בן זמננו הטוב ביותר (אנ').[9]

ב-24 באוקטובר 2011 סירוטה הוציא את אלבום הבכורה שלו "Ruslan Sirota", בהשתתפות סטנלי קלארק, צ'יק קוריאה וג'ורג' דיוק. האלבום הופק על ידי רוסלן וקלארק, הוקלט בחברת ההפקות של קלארק, Roxboro Entertainment Group, והופץ על ידי יוניברסל מיוזיק גרופ.[10][11]

סירוטה הוא גם חבר מועצת המנהלים של Magic Music Foundation, ארגון ללא מטרות רווח המוקדש למתן מלגות לתלמידי מוזיקה ברחבי העולם.[12]
