ראיון עם הערפד (באנגלית: Interview with the Vampire) היא סדרת דרמת אימה גותית אמריקאית שיצר רולין ג'ונס על פי הרומן באותו השם משנת 1976.

הסדרה עלתה לשידור ב-2 באוקטובר 2022 בערוץ "AMC", וזכתה לשבחי הביקורות על הכתיבה, הטון וביצועיהם של אנדרסון וריד. עוד טרם עלייתה לשידור, הסדרה חודשה לעונה שנייה.

תקציר העלילה

עלילת הסדרה מביאה בסיפור מסגרת, המוצגת כריאיון אותו עורך דניאל מולוי, עיתונאי שאפתן, את קורותיו של לואי דה פוינט דו לאק, ואת יחסיו עם יוצרו ומאהבו, לסטאט דה ליונקורט, ובתם, קלאודיה.

כשהוא שחוק ועייף ממגבלותיו כגבר כהה-עור בניו אורלינס במהלך העשור השני של המאה ה-20, לואי מתפתה להצעתו של לסטאט: להצטרף אליו כבן לווייתו הערפד; אך עד מהרה מגלה לואי כי לכוחותיו החדשים והמשכרים יש מחיר אלים, ולאחר צירופה של "בתם" החדשה, הילדה הערפדה קלאודיה, לחייהם; חייהם של השלושה נע במהרה במסלול הרסני בן עשרות שנים של נקמה וכפרה.[1]

ברומן ובסרט המקוריים, לואי הוא בעליו של מטע בדרום אנטבלום ושל העבדים האפריקאים שעובדים את האדמה, ומנגד, התמות ההומוסקסואליות של הרומן כמעט אינם מורגשים בעיבוד הקולנועי שהופק על פיו. בסדרת הטלוויזיה, אנדרסון מגלם את לואי כאדם כהה-עור ממוצא קריאולי הנמצא בארון, שעושרו מגיע מבתי בושת בסטוריביל, רובע החלונות האדומים של ניו אורלינס בתחילת המאה ה-20. שינוי זה נועד להוסיף עומק לדמותו של לואי ולאפשר לסדרה להתמודד עם שאלות בנושאי גזע, מיניות והיסטוריה.[2] הסופרת רולין ג'ונס ציינה כי השינויים נעשו על מנת למקם את העלילה ב"תקופת זמן שהייתה מרגשת מבחינה אסתטית כמו המאה ה-18, מבלי לחפור בסיפורי מטעים שאף אחד לא באמת רוצה לשמוע עכשיו".[3]

פיתוח

בשנת 2014, נמסר כי עיבוד זיכיון חדש לסדרת "The Vampire Chronicles" שנכתבה על ידי הסופרת אן רייס, נמצא בפיתוח כסדרת סרטים על ידי חברות ההפקה "סרטי יוניברסל" ו-"Imagine Entertainment". סדרת הרומנים עובדה בעבר לעיבוד קולנועי באותו שם משנת 1994 בכיכובם של טום קרוז ובראד פיט, ולסרט ההמשך הכושל משנת 2002, "מלכת הארורים". בנה של רייס, כריסטופר רייס, עיבד את התסריט ונמסר כי אלכס קורצמן ורוברטו אורצ'י יפיקו את סדרת הסרטים.[4] עם זאת, לא היו התפתחויות נוספות בהפקת הסרטים עד ל-26 בנובמבר 2016, כאשר נמסר כי רייס עצמה השיגה חזרה את זכויותיה על הזיכיון, מתוך כוונה לעבד את סדרת הרומנים לסדרת טלוויזיה, אותה היא ובנה יפיקו. עם הודעה זו, רייס הצהירה: ”סדרת טלוויזיה באיכות הגבוהה ביותר היא כעת החלום שלי עבור לסטאט, לואי, ארמנד, מריוס והשבט כולו. למרות שהיה לנו העונג לעבוד עם הרבה אנשים טובים בקשר לתוכנית הזו, זה לא הסתדר. כעת, יותר מתמיד, ברור לגמרי שהטלוויזיה היא המקום שאליו שייכים הערפדים.[5]”

ב-28 באפריל 2017, פורסם כי אולפני "סרטי פרמאונט" ו-"Anonymous Content" זכו במכרז על הזכויות לאחר מלחמת הצעות תחרותית בת חודש. כריסטופר רייס שב לשכתב את התסריט, נמסר כי את הסדרה יפיקו דייוויד קאנטר וסטיב גולין.[6] ב-11 בינואר 2018, יוצר הסדרה "חניבעל, בריאן פולר, הצטרף להפקה כמפיק בפועל, אך מאוחר יותר באותו החודש נמסר כי החליט לעזוב כדי לא להפריע לחזון של רייס.[7][8] ב-17 ביולי 2018, "הולו" רכשה את הזכויות והחלה את תהליך הפקת הסדרה; ב-19 בפברואר 2019, נמסר כי די ג'ונסון תחליף בתפקיד את פולר.[8][9] ב-19 בדצמבר 2019, הוכרז כי "הולו" החליטה לבטל את ההפקה, כאשר רייס הוסיפה את טרילוגיית "Lives of the Mayfair Witches", שהזכויות עליה עדיין היו בבעלות אולפני "האחים וורנר", לעסקת הזכויות המלאה. "פרמאונט" הייתה בעמדה להחזיר לעצמה את הזכויות על הרומנים שכן דווח שהאולפנים היו בין ארבעת המציעים המבקשים את הזכויות על הזיכיון.[10]

ב-13 במאי 2020, הוכרז כי "AMC Networks" רכשה את הזכויות על קניינו הרוחני של הזיכיון, הכולל 18 רומנים ואפשרות לפתח סרטים עלילתיים וסדרות טלוויזיה במסגרת העסקה.[11] ב-24 ביוני 2021, רשת "AMC" הזמינה עיבוד טלוויזיוני בן 8 פרקים לרומן הראשון בסדרה, "ראיון עם הערפד", שתעלה לשידור בשנת 2022. עוד נמסר כי על יצירת הסדרה יהיה אמון רולין ג'ונס, שאף יפיק ויכתוב אותה; וכי מארק ג'ונסון עתיד להפיק את הסדרה לצדו של ג'ונס במסגרת העסקאות שלהם עם אולפני AMC, כמו גם לשמש כמפקח על הזיכיון הטלוויזיוני עבור רשת "AMC".[12] ב-19 ביולי 2021, פורסם כי אלן טיילור, במאי הסדרות "מד מן" ו"משחקי הכס", יביים את שני הפרקים הראשונים של העונה הראשונה וכן ישמש כמפיק בפועל.[13]

ליהוק

באוגוסט 2021, נמסר כי סאם ריד וג'ייקוב אנדרסון לוהקו לדמויותיהם של לסטאט ולואי, אותם גילמו טום קרוז ובראד פיט, בהתאמה, בעיבוד הקולנועי משנת 1994.[14][15] באוקטובר 2021, נמסר כי ביילי באס לוהקה לדמותה של קלאודיה, אותה גילמה קירסטן דאנסט בעיבוד הקולנועי.[16]
