קייט או'פלין (באנגלית: Kate O'Flynn; נולדה ב-1986) היא שחקנית אנגלייה. היא הופיעה בתיאטרון המלכותי הלאומי בהפקות של "Port" ו"קורטוב של דבש", וכן בסרטים "Up There" ו"מר טרנר".

ביוגרפיה

או'פלין נולדה בבורי שבמנצ'סטר רבתי. כנערה למדה בתיאטרון לנוער רויאל אקסצ'נג' שבמנצ'סטר.[1] אחר כך נרשמה לאקדמיה המלכותית לאמנות הדרמה (RADA).[2] התפקיד המקצועי הראשון שלה היה ב-2008 בסרטו של מייק לי "חופשייה ומאושרת". בהמשך אותה שנה זכתה בפרס התיאטרון של TMA לשחקנית המשנה הטובה ביותר על הופעתה במחזה "שעת הילדים" עם להקת התיאטרון רויאל אקסצ'נג'.[3]

ב-2009 הופיעה או'פלין יחד עם ראסל טובי במחזה "A Miracle" מאת מולי דייוויס בתיאטרון רויאל קורט בלונדון. מייקל בילינגטון העניק למחזה שלושה כוכבים מתוך חמישה בביקורת בעיתון הגרדיאן, ושיבח את הופעתה של או'פלין.[4] היא זכתה לשבחים גם באיבנינג סטנדרד[5] ובדיילי טלגרף.[6]

ב-2011 שיחקה או'פלין בתפקיד אליזבת גוף בסרט הטלוויזיה "החשדות של מר ויצ'ר". ב-2012 גילמה את בריל בעיבוד של BBC Four, זוכה פרס הבאפט"א, לרומן "מקום בצמרת".[7][8] עוד באותה שנה הופיעה בתפקיד ליז בסרט הקומדיה הבריטי "Up There", שזכה בפרס באפט"א הסקוטי לסרט הטוב ביותר.[9] הסרט שודר בערוץ BBC Two בשנת 2015.[10]

ב-2013 שיחקה או'פלין בהפקה של התיאטרון המלכותי הלאומי של המחזה "Port" מאת סיימון סטיבנס.[1] על הופעתה זו זכתה בפרס על שם ג'ק טינקר של חוג המבקרים בקטגוריית אישיות התיאטרון החדשה המבטיחה ביותר.[11] ב-2014 חזרה ושיחקה בתיאטרון הלאומי במחזה "קורטוב של דבש" מאת שילה דילייני.[2]

ב-2014 הופיעה או'פלין בסרט "מר טרנר".[12] ב-2015 שיחקה בתפקיד ד"ר דיפ בדרמה הקומית המשטרתית "No Offence".[13] היא חזרה להופיע באותה דמות גם בעונה השנייה של הסדרה.

ב-2016 שיחקה או'פלין בסיטקום רדיופוני בשם "Dot" של רדיו 4 של ה-BBC.[14] באותה שנה גילמה את ליידי אלכסנדרינה דה קורסי בדרמה התקופתית של ITV "דוקטור ת'ורן", המבוסס על רומן באותו שם מאת אנתוני טרולופ.[12]

עוד ב-2016 הופיעה או'פלין בפרק "The Eagle and the Daw" בסדרה "האב בראון" של ה-BBC בתפקיד קתרין קורוון. ב-2017 חזרה שוב לסדרה וגילמה את קתרין בפרק "The Jackdaw's Revenge".

ב-2019 גילמה או'פלין את ויקטוריה וודקוק בדרמה הטלוויזיונית "Brexit: The Uncivil War" מאת ג'יימס גרהם.[15]

ב-2024 גילמה את הנסיכה מרי בקומדיה הרומנטית המבוססת על ההיסטוריה בשם ״My Lady Jane”.
