פיגוע ההתאבדות בכוויתה הוא פיגוע שהתרחש ב-8 באוגוסט 2016, במסגרתו התפוצץ מחבל מתאבד בבית החולים "Sandeman" במחוז בלוצ'יסטן שבדרום-מערב פקיסטן. הפיצוץ, שנהרגו בו כ-70 בני אדם וכ-150 נפצעו, אירע בבירת המחוז כוויתה, בזמן שעשרות אנשים התאספו כדי ללוות את גופתו של עורך דין מוכר שנורה למוות מוקדם באותו היום.[1] מחוז ח'וראסאן של המדינה האסלאמית נטל אחריות על פיגוע. כמה שעות לאחר מכן, פרסם גם ארגון "ג'מעת אל-אחראר" שהתפצל משלוחת ארגון טליבאן בפקיסטן והצטרף למחוז ח'וראסאן, הודעת קבלת אחריות על הפיגוע ועל רצח עורך הדין.[2]

בתקופה שקדמה לפיגוע, אירעו מספר מקרי ירי קטלניים בעיר, חלקם בוצעו על ידי טרוריסטים וחלקם על ידי עבריינים וזאת על רקע העלייה במתיחות העדתית ובפשיעה באזור.[3]

ב-6 בדצמבר 2016 נהרג מתכנן הפיגוע, ג'האנגיר בדיני, במהלך מבצע של כוחות הביטחון הפקיסטניים בעיר פישין שבבלוצ'יסטן.

פרטי האירוע

בבוקר 8 באוגוסט 2016 נרצח בילאל אנוואר קאסי, נשיא לשכת עורכי הדין של מחוז בלוצ'יסטן, כשהיה בדרכו במכוניתו מביתו למשרדו בעיר. גופתו הועברה לנתיחה שלאחר המוות בבית החולים הממשלתי שבעיר כוויתה. לאחר הגעת הגופה והתאספות עשרות עורכי דין ומכרים של קאסי מרחבי המחוז, כמו גם עיתונאים מקומיים בבית החולים, אירע פיצוץ עז בחדר המיון של בית החולים, שלווה לפי דיווח המשטרה בירי של אדם בלתי מזוהה. כתוצאה מהפיגוע המשולב, נהרגו כ-70 אנשים ונפצעו כ-150, מרביתם עורכי דין ועיתונאים (מתוכם 20 נפצעו קשה).[4] דובר המשטרה ציין כי בפיגוע נעשה שימוש במטען כבד במשקל 8 קילוגרמים אשר כלל כדוריות מתכת, לשם העצמת הפגיעה.[1]

לאחר הפיגוע, אחד מהקטלניים ביותר בתולדות פקיסטן,[5] הוכרזו שלושה ימי אבל על ידי ממשלת המחוז.[1]
