José María Odriozola Lino, nado en Pontevedra o 23 de xullo de 1939, é un dirixente deportivo galego, presidente da Federación Española de Atletismo.

Traxectoria

Fillo do enxeñeiro agrónomo Miguel Odriozola (Misión Biolóxica de Galicia) e sobriño do bibliotecario e historiador Antonio Odriozola, criouse nunha acomodada e prestixiosa familia pontevedresa. Estudou en bioloxía na Universidade Complutense de Madrid, onde se licenciou a comezos da década dos sesenta. Nesa época tamén tivo o seu primeiro contacto co deporte de alta competición, ao acadar campionatos de España tanto en rugbi como en atletismo, onde conseguiu os títulos estatais de campión universitario en 800 m e en 4x400.

Prosegue os seus estudos e consegue doutorarse na mesma Complutense e en 1974 traballa como investigador asociado na Universidade Harvard. En 1983 consegue a praza de catedrático de bioquímica na Complutense e comeza a especializarse en nutrición deportiva, o que lle abrirá as portas da Federación Española de Atletismo, onde se integra no equipo de Juan Manuel de Hoz. En 1989, logo da retirada deste, gaña as súas primeiras eleccións para presidente da Federación, vitorias que repetiría en 1993, 1997, 2001, 2005 e 2008, nestas tres últimas ocasións ao ser o único candidato presentado. En 2012 foi elixido de novo para outros catro anos, logo de gañar fronte á candidatura do que fora o seu vicepresidente, Vicente Añó[1].

É ademais vicepresidente e membro do Comité Executivo do Comité Olímpico Español, e membro do Consello Directivo da Federación Internacional de Atletismo (IAAF) dende 1999. É tamén membro da Comisión Nacional Antidopaxe de España.
