Igor Dodon, nado o 18 de febreiro de 1975, é un político moldovo, expresidente de Moldova.

Traxectoria

Ocupou o cargo de presidente de Moldova entre o 23 de decembro de 2016 e o 24 de decembro de 2020 . Anteriormente, foi o líder do Partido dos Socialistas da República Moldova. Foi ministro de Comercio e Economía nos gobernos de Vasile Tarlev e Zinaida Greceanîi desde setembro de 2006 a setembro de 2009, e foi membro do Parlamento de Moldova de 2009 a 2016[1]

Suspensións

O 17 de outubro de 2017, o Tribunal Constitucional de Moldova decidiu que Dodon non podía desempeñar temporalmente as súas funcións por non xurar ao ministro de Defensa proposto, Eugen Sturza[2].

O 2 de xaneiro de 2018, o Tribunal Constitucional de Moldova decidiu que Dodon non podía desempeñar temporalmente as súas funcións por non xurar a sete ministros.

Varios días despois, o Tribunal Constitucional volveu suspender temporalmente a Dodon, debido ao seu veto a un proxecto de lei para restrinxir as emisións de noticias rusas. Isto permitiu ao parlamento eludir o seu veto e promulgar unha lei que restrinxe as emisións de televisión rusa. A lei prohibe ás canles de televisión emitir noticias e programas analíticos de países que non asinaron o acordo rexional para a Área Europea de Radiodifusión, como Rusia[3].

O 24 de setembro de 2018 volveu ser suspendido das súas funcións por non aprobar o candidato a Ministro de Sanidade.

O 9 de xuño de 2019, o Tribunal Constitucional da República Moldova decidiu suspender temporalmente a Igor Dodon como presidente, e o primeiro ministro Pavel Filip foi nomeado presidente interino, quen asinou o decreto sobre a disolución do parlamento e celebración de eleccións anticipadas o 6 de setembro.[4] O documento cancelouse o 11 de xuño de 2019 porque non cumpría coas normas constitucionais[5].
