Heidi Kühn-Bode, nada en Eching (Baviera) o 3 de xullo de 1945 e finada na Coruña o 20 de maio de 2020[1], foi unha tradutora e escritora alemá en galego, alemán, castelán e inglés.

Traxectoria

Kühn-Bode chegou a España nos anos sesenta, primeiro para traballar como tradutora en Bilbao, e despois en Madrid[2]. Alí, durante unha manifestación antifranquista, coñeceu a quen sería seu home, con quen se instalou a vivir na Coruña desde 1968. Na cidade coruñesa deu clase de inglés en colexios da cidade (Compañía de María)[3] e despois foi profesora da escola de idiomas.

Era especialista na obra de Henry James e traduciu ao alemán escolmas de poesía galega.

Vida persoal

Casou con Emilio Gundín Fandiño, e foi nai de Sonia, Katia e Jenny Gundín Kühn[4].
