Fuentes de Invierno (en asturiano: Fontes d'Iviernu) é unha estación de esquí situada no concello asturiano de Ayer, sobre a Cordilleira Cantábrica (España). Inaugurouse en 2007. Está situada a 68 km de Oviedo, 85 km de León e Xixón e a 101 km de Avilés.

Descrición

A estación conta con 3 pistas verdes: Pequeño Laurel, Toneo e La Llana'l Fitu; 3 azuis: Brezales, Entresierras e un pequeno enlace; 6 vermellas: Abedules, Aller, La Hoya, Arandaneras, Llomba e Piornales; e 3 negras: Rebecos, Tubos de Toneo e Entresierras.

Ademais, a estación dispón dun snowpark, unha cafetaría, unha enfermaría, un alugueir ode material (a pé de pistas), unha escola de esquí e snowboard, e un parque infantil para pequenos esquiadores.

A estación aínda non dispón de canóns de neve artificial, aínda que está prevista a súa instalación unha vez se solucione o seu déficit enerxético, para o cal xa se atopa en marcha un proxecto. Fuentes de Invierno é a segunda estación de esquí de Asturias, moi próxima á veciña San Isidro, en León. Xuntas conforman o maior dominio esquiable da Cordilleira Cantábrica.

Unión con San Isidro

O 30 de novembro de 2011 anunciouse que se construirán dous remontes para unir a estación de Fuentes de Invierno con San Isidro por dous puntos, ampliando así a superficie esquiable a 42 quilómetros e dando lugar ao sétimo complexo de España en canto a superficie esquiable, superando a estacións como como Astún ou Candanchú.[1]
