Bregu (Dewanagari: भृगु; ,IAST: Bhṛgu, भृगु) adalah seorang resi di antara tujuh resi agung (Saptaresi) dalam agama Hindu. Pustaka Purana menyebutnya sebagai salah satu Prajapati (pemelihara ciptaan) dan juga Manasaputra Brahma, yaitu manusia yang tercipta melalui kekuatan pikiran Brahma (Dewa Pencipta).[1] Ia merupakan perintis ilmu perbintangan (astrologi), dan penyusun kitab Bregusamhita, pustaka kuno ilmu perbintangan (Jyotisha).

Menurut kitab Manusmerti, Bregu hidup pada zaman yang sama dengan Manu, leluhur umat manusia dalam mitologi Hindu.[2] Bregu mendirikan asramanya di tepi sungai Vadhusar, anak sungai Drishadwati dekat bukit Dhosi di negeri Brahmawarta,[3] kini merupakan daerah perbatasan Haryana dan Rajasthan di India[4] Bersama dengan Manu, Bregu memiliki peran penting dalam penyusunan 'Manusmerti', yang diwejangkan ke hadapan para resi di negeri Brahmawarta, setelah terjadinya banjir bandang di daerah tersebut[5] sekitar 10.000 tahun yang lalu.[6] Menurut kitab Skandapurana, Bregu berpindah ke Bhrigukutch, yang kini disebut Bharuch di tepi sungai Narmada di Gujarat, dan meninggalkan putranya, Cyawana di bukit Dhosi.

Bregu menikah dengan Kyati, salah satu putri Daksa. Mereka memiliki dua putra dan seorang putri, masing-masing bernama Data, Widata, dan Sri (putrinya kemudian menikah dengan Wisnu).[7] Bregu juga menikah dengan Kawyamata (Usana) dan memiliki putra bernama Sukra, seorang resi agung yang menjadi guru para asura. Cyawana juga merupakan salah satu putranya, dari pernikahannya dengan Puloma.[7] Salah satu keturunannya adalah Jamadagni, ayah Parasurama, salah satu awatara Wisnu.[8][9][10]
