Euridome (lúa)

Euridome (ou en grego Ευριδόμη), tamén coñecida coma Xúpiter XXXII, é unha lúa irregular retrógrada de Xúpiter. Foi descuberta por un grupo de astrónomos da Universidade de Hawaii encabezado por Scott S. Sheppard no ano 2001, e recibiu a designación temporal S/2001 J 4.[1][2]

Euridome ten uns 3 quilómetros de diámetro, e orbita Xúpiter a unha distancia media de 23,231 millóns de kms, tarda 723,359 días en completar unha órbita, ten unha inclinación de 149° con respecto á eclíptica (147° respecto do ecuador de Xúpiter), e posúe unha excentricidade orbital de 0,3770. Esta lúa pertence ó grupo de satélites Pasifae, un grupo de lúas retrógradas irregulares que orbitan ó redor de Xúpiter a unha distancia media de entre 22,8 a 24,1 millóns de kms, con inclinacións de entre 144,5° e 158,3°.

Recibiu oficialmente o seu nome en agosto do ano 2003, Euridome na mitoloxía grega era descrita segundo algúns escritores gregos coma a nai das Gracias (xunto con Zeus).[3]
