Consellería de Asuntos Sociais

A Consellería de Asuntos Sociais foi unha antiga consellería da Xunta de Galicia que se encargou de tarefas relacionadas coa prestación de servizos de integración e sociais. A miúdo, esta consellería integrou tamén outros abanos de competencia, relacionados co traballo, a muller ou a mocidade. Na actualidade atópase integrada na consellería de Traballo e Benestar.

Historia

As competencias en asistencia e atención social eran pequenas ao comezo da autonomía de Galicia, e non contaron cunha consellería con ese nome ata que en 1987 o goberno tripartito encabezado por Fernando González Laxe denomina unha consellería de Traballo e Benestar social. Esas competencias seguirían integradas en Traballo ao comezo do goberno de Manuel Fraga e posteriormente na consellería de Sanidade, ata que en 2001 se crea unha consellería con ese nome de forma independente. En 2003 volve a integrarse na consellería de Traballo, ata que en 2005 se independiza de novo como consellería para a Igualdade e o Benestar, con rango de vicepresidencia. En 2009 volve a integrarse dentro da consellería de Traballo e Benestar.
