A azulenta común (Prunella modularis) é unha especie de ave paseriforme da familia Prunellidae[2] amplamente distribuída por toda Europa. O seu aspecto apagado e pouco chamativo faino difícil de distinguir dun paporrubio xuvenil, dunha pica dos prados ou dun carrizo. Non obstante, o seu estraño hábito de apareamento, con tríos dun macho con dúas femias, ou dunha femia con dous machos, faino moi particular.

O seu canto é un chirlo rápido, plano, agudo, monocorde.

O seu niño é unha cunca herbácea, revestida de musgo ou pelo, con 4-5 ovos postos en 2-3 niñadas de abril a xuño.

Vive entre arbustos, entre a maleza, comendo pequenos insectos e sementes.

Cría en toda Europa menos en Islandia; especialmente en uceiras e marismas con matogueira densa, en zonas costeiras, bosques densos, cultivos e xardíns.
