Mondo Minerals

Mondo Minerals on talkkiin erikoistunut kaivosyhtiö. Se on perustettu vuonna 1967 nimellä Suomen Talkki Oy, lisäksi yhtiö tunnettiin aikanaan myös nimellä Finnminerals Oy. Yhtiön omistaa Advent International, aikaisempia omistajia ovat olleet HG Capital ja Omya. Mondo Minerals on maailman toiseksi suurin talkin tuottaja Rio Tinton jälkeen.[1]

Mondo Mineralsilla on talkkilouhoksia Sotkamossa ja Polvijärvellä sekä toimintaa myös Alankomaissa ja Saksassa.

Erikoiskemikaaliyritys Elementis plc hankki Mondo Mineralsin omistukseensa vuonna 2018.[2]

Kritiikkiä

Mondon kaivokset Paltamon Mieslahdessa ja läheisessä Kajaanin puolella sijaitsevassa Jormuan kylässä ovat herättäneet myös kritiikkiä vakinaisten ja kesäasukkaiden mielissä.[3]
