Jouni Kokora

Jouni Kokora (s. Lohja[1]) on suomalainen ooppera- ja konserttilaulaja, äänialaltaan bassobaritoni. Hän on tehnyt uraa etenkin saksalaisissa oopperataloissa.[2]

Kokora valmistui vuonna 2003 musiikin maisteriksi Sibelius-Akatemiasta, jossa hän opiskeli Jorma Elorinteen johdolla. Hän on lisäksi opiskellut Roland Hermannin johdolla Karlsruhen musiikkikorkeakoulussa Saksassa. Hän sai vuosiksi 1999–2001 kiinnityksen Pforzheimin kaupunginoopperaan ja sitten Nürnbergin valtionteatteriin vuosiksi 2001–2004. Tuon kauden rooleja olivat Dulcamara Lemmenjuomassa, nimirooli Figaron häissä, Leporellon rooli Don Giovannissa sekä neljän paholaisen roolit oopperassa Hoffmannin kertomukset.[2]

Suomen Kansallisoopperassa Kokora on vieraillut vuodesta 1997 alkaen muun muassa Figaron häiden nimiroolissa, Pizzarrona Beethovenin Fideliossa ja Waldnerina Straussin Arabellassa. Pariisin Bastiljin oopperassa Kokora lauloi vuonna 2006 Tsargon roolin Kaija Saariahon Adriana Materissa, jonka ohjasi Peter Sellars. Nürnbergin oopperan Wagnerin Ring-vierailulla Pekingissä Kokora lauloi Donnerin roolin Reininkullassa. Hän on vieraillut myös muun muassa Viron kansallisoopperassa sekä Savonlinnan oopperajuhlien ja Ilmajoen musiikkijuhlien tuotannoissa.[2]

Jouni Kokora on esiintynyt solistina monissa suurissa kirkkomusiikkiteoksissa sekä suomalaisten ja saksalaisten sinfoniaorkestereiden konserteissa.[2]

2010-luvun alkupuolella Kokora opiskeli musiikkipedagogiaa Metropolia-ammattikorkeakoulussa Helsingissä.[2]
