At-Tauba suraren 119. aya (Koran 9:119):
يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَكُوۡنُوۡا مَعَ الصّٰدِقِيۡنَ
Oi sinetsi duzuenok, beldur izan Jainkoari eta egon egiatiekin.

Aya (arabieraz: آية‎, ʔaː.ja ahoskatua; pluralez: آيات ʾāyāt) Koraneko bertso edo bertsetetako bakoitzari ematen zaion izena da. 6 236 bertset ditu Koranak eta zenbait ayak sura edo atal bat osatzen dute. Aya bakoitza zenbaki batekin identifikatzen da, eta luzera aldakorra du. Hitzez hitz, "seinalea, iragarpena, miraria" esan nahi du, eta Islamean erlijio-betebeharrak (ayat taklifiya) edo fenomeno kosmikoak (ayat takwiniya) ere aipa daitezke.[1] Koranean, ayat zenbait bertsetetan aipatzen dituzte, hala nola:

« تِلْكَ آيَاتُ ٱللَّٰهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَقِّۖ فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَ ٱللَّٰهِ وَآيَاتِهِۦ يُؤْمِنُونَ

"Alaren ʾāyāt dira, zinez errezitatzen dizkizuegunak. Orduan, Jainkoaren eta bere ʾāyāten ondoren, ze hadith sinetsiko dute? "
