Videha antzinako Indo-Ariar leinu bat izan zen, Burdin Aroan Hegoaldeko Asiako ipar-ekialdean bizi zena. Videhako biztanleak, Vaidehak, monarkia batean bizi ziren hasiera batean, baina gero gaṇasaṅgha batean antolatu ziren, errepublika oligarkiko aristokratiko bat. Gaur egun Videhako Errepublika deitzen zaio garai horri. Videhako Errepublika Vajji Ligaren parte zen. Hiriburua Mithila zen.
Geografia
Videharen mugak Sadānirā ibaiak ezartzen zituen mendebaldean, Kauśikī ibaiak mendebaldean, Gangesek hegoaldean eta Himalaiak iparraldean. Sadānirā ibaiaren beste aldean Kosalako Erresuma zegoen[1].
