Tritikalea (× Triticosecale) duela 100 urte artifizialki lortua, garia eta zekalearen nahaskina da.

Proteinatan bere gurasoak baino aberatsagoa da, baina lehorteetan nahiko ahula. Landare luzea, gariaren eta zekalearen antzekoa da, buru zintzilikariak dituena. Tritikalearen aleak zein aleburuak jatorrizko bi landareak ekartzen dizkigu burura, bien ezaugarrien nahaste nabarmena baita.

Bazkarako erabiltzen da nagusiki, baina okintzarako gariarekin nahasita erabiltzerik badago.

Tritikalaren produzitzaileak nagusiak Polonia, Australia, Alemania, Frantzia, Txina eta Bielorrusia dira. 2005an, FAO-ren arabera, 13.500.000 tm gertatu ziren.
