Quorum sensing

Zelula-dentsitatea baxua denean, autoinduktore-dentsitatea txikia izango da, txikiegia gene onuragarriaren adierazpena bultzatzeko. Zelula-dentsitatea emendatu ahala, antoinduktore-dentsitatea emendatuko da, ekoizpen proteikoari hasiera emanez.

Biologian, quorum sensinga, autoindukzioa edo quorum-pertzepzioa gene-erregulazioaren bidezko zelula-hazkuntza bateko zelula-populazioaren dentsitatea detektatzeko eta honi erantzuteko gaitasuna da.[1] Quorum sensingaren bidez autoinduktore deritzen seinale kimikoak askatzen dituzte, komunitate osoaren gene onuragarrien adierazpen genetikoa emendatzen edo induzitzen dutenak. Quorum sensing hau, bereziki maila zelularrean ematen bada (adibidez, minbizi-zelulen arteko komunikazioan)[2], zenbait intsektu-taldeek ere, inurrien kasu, halako mekanismoak erabiltzen dituzte;[3] adibidez, habia sortzeko momentuan.[4]
