Infliximab hainbat gaitz autoimmune tratatzeko erabiltzen den antigorputz monoklonala da. Besteak beste, artritis erreumatoidea, ultzeradun kolitisa, Crohn gaitza, espondilitis ankilosatzailea, psoriasia eta sarkoidosiaren tratamenduan erabiltzen da.

Zain-barneko bidetik ematen da, sei-zortzi astetik behin [1]. AEBetan hasi zen erabiltzen 1998an, eta hurrengo urtean Europan ere baimendu zen.

Antigorputz monoklonal honek tumoreen nekrosi-faktoreari (TNF) atxikitzen zaio eta bere jarduera inhibiltzen du. TNF gaitz autoimmune askotan oso aktiboa den zitokina mota bat da, hantura prozesuetan zeregin garrantzitsua duena. Zitokina hori indargabetzean, hantura ere desagertu egiten da [2].

Tratamendua hasi aurretik azterketa mediko zorrotza egin behar zaio gaixoari, beste patologia batzuk baztertzeko. Jakina baita infliximabek hainbat gaitz infekziosoen bilakaera okertu dezakeela (tuberkulosia, HIESa, hepatitisa...)

Dituen albo-ondorio ugari dela-eta, infliximab soilik erabiltzen da ohiko gaitz autoimmuneen tratamendua (kortikoideak edo immunosupresoreak) huts egiten dutenean. Albo-ondorio horietako batzuk infekzio larriak harrapatzeko eta linfoma izateko joera areagotuak dira.
