Espainiako Irrati Arteen eta Zientzien Akademiaren helburua Espainiako irratia sustatzea eta irratiko profesionalen interesak ordezkatzea da, baita gaur egungo eta etorkizuneko irratiko profesionalei prestakuntza ematea ere. Jorge Álvarez irrati eta soinu ingeniariak 1997an sortu zuen akademia.[1]

Historia

Akademiak Irratiaren Mundu Egunaren aldarrikapena sustatu zuen UNESCO-ren Batzordearen bitartez. Jorge Álvarez presidenteak UNESCOri eskatu zion, 2008an, mundu guztiko irrati eta irratizale guztientzako nazioarteko ospakizun-egun hau. Azkenik, 2011ko azaroaren 3an, UNESCOren 36. Konferentzia Orokorrak aho batez onartu zuen Espainiako proposamena, eta otsailaren 13a izendatu zuen Irratiaren Mundu Eguna.[2][3][4]

2012an, Akademia horrek Nazioarteko Irrati Batzordea sortu zuen, bost kontinentetako irrati-erakunde garrantzitsuenekin batera eta UNESCOren eta UITren babespean.[5]
