Biografia

Amak bultzatuta Cynthiak ballet, ahots eta piano ikasketak egin zituen. Mississippiko Unibertsitatean batxilergo artistikoa egin zuen[2]. Udako eskolak UCLAn egin zituenean Los Angelesen bizitzen geditu zen eta iragarki batzuetan egin zuen aktore debuta, Coca-Cola eta General Motorsen iragarkietan ere bai[2]. Neska ederra izanik hainbat telesailetan agertu zen eta Smoke Signals filmean paper txiki bat izan zuen.

1990. urtean Northern Exposure telesailean hartu zuen parte eta honekin bihurtu zen ezaguna. Emmy Sarietan bigarren mailako emakumezko aktore onenaren bi izendapen jaso zituen, 1992 eta 1993an[4]. 1992 urtean Olson bikien filmean (To Grandmother's House We Go) amaren papera egin zuen[3] eta 8 seconds filmean (1994) emakumezko protagonista izan zen. 1998. urtean You're the One sitcom-eko protagonista izan zen baina hilabete soilik iraun zuen serieak[3], hiru kapitulu han zuzen ere
