Bankim Chandra Chatterji Indiar eleberrigilea (Kanthalpara, 1838ko ekainaren 26a - Calcutta, 1894ko apirilaren 8a). «Bengalako literaturaren enperadore» deitu izan zaio. Eragin handia izan zuen Tagorerengan eta Indiako beste zenbait idazlerengan. Liburu hauek idatzi zituen, besteren artean: Durgeshnondini (1864) eta Anandamath (1882). Eleberri horretatik dago hartuta Indiako ereserki ezaguna, "Vande Mataram".
