Kunda dessant oli admiral Johan Pitka juhtimisel tegutsenud Eesti merejõude ja staabikapten Karl Aleksander Pauluse dessantüksuse Viru rinde väeosade toetuseks tehtud dessant 10.–11. jaanuaril 1919 Kunda juures, mille käigus dessantosad vallutasid Kunda sadama, linna, Port Kunda tehase ja Kunda mõisa.

1919. aasta 5. jaanuaril alustasid Eesti soomusrongid vastupealetungi Viru rindel. Vastase rinne murti 20 km sügavuselt läbi ja tekkinud lõhet laiendasid jalaväeosad, Viru rinde pealetungi toetas rannikul omakorda laevasuurtükkide tule toetusel dessant ja 10. ja 11. jaanuaril toimunud dessantidega Kunda piirkonnas nurjati Punaarmee plaan Kunda jõe joonele kaitsele jääda[1].

Eesti merejõude laevastik saatis 10. jaanuaril Kundas dessandi maale ja hõivasid Kunda sadama, linna ja Port Kunda tehase, kuid dessantosad olid aga sunnitud õhtuks laevadele taanduma. Kuid 11. jaanuaril korrati dessanti (umbes 250 meest) uuesti, kusjuures dessantosad siis vallutas dessantosa Kunda mõisa, mida 11. ja 12. jaanuari jooksul hoidsid endi käes. 12. jaanuari õhtul jõudsid Kundasse Loksa dessandis maabunud ja maismaad mööda edasitunginud major Martin Ekströmi 2 soome vabatahtlike kompaniid.

12. jaanuari õhtuks jõudsid 1. diviisi osad Roela mõisaKantkülaRahklaKunda jõe joonele.
