Korktirilo kun levilo.

Korktirilo estas ilo konsista el metala helico kun tenilo aŭ levilo kiu inventiĝis por povi tiri aŭ elpreni la ŝtopilojn el korko al boteloj de vino aŭ boteletoj de parfumoj. La korktiriloj fabrikiĝas el materialoj tiom diversaj kiaj plasto, metalo aŭ ligno sed la spiralo ĉiam estas el ŝtalo.

Historio de la korktiriloj

Du korktiriloj.

La unua montro de korktiriloj datiĝas el la 17a jarcento en Anglio. Kvankam nune tiu ilo asociiĝas kun la vinindustrio, tiam ĝi rilatis al la komerco de parfumoj, ĉar sinjorinoj portis ilin kaj uzis ilin por malfermi boteletojn de parfumoj aŭ de kosmetikaĵoj.[2] Ĝis tiam la vino estis transportita en bareloj, kio malhelpis ties konservadon. Kiam etendiĝis la uzado de boteloj ŝtopitaj per korko dum la 18a jarcento, vastiĝis ankaŭ la uzado de la korktiriloj.

La unuaj korktiriloj estis similaj al la iloj kiuj uziĝis por elpreni kuglojn el pafiloj, kaj la unua patento estis de Samuel Henshall (1765-1807) en 1795. Tiu ne estis fakte la inventinto de la korktiriloj, sed aldonis radon por eviti la troan eniron de la korktiriloj kaj faciligi la elprenon. Lia patento havis formon de "T". En 1802 Edward Thompson aldonas haltigilon kiu plie faciligas la elprenon.[3] Dum la 19a jarcento la ilo etendiĝis tra Francio, Kanado kaj Usono; aperis diversaj modeloj (400 nur en Anglio)[2] kaj la tuto evoluiĝis.[4] El modelo kun levilo Joseph Haynes dezajnas en 1844 modelon por trinkejoj, kie malfermado de boteloj oftas kaj necesas rapida uzado de la korktiriloj.
