La Guinness-libro de Rekordoj [gines] estas kolektaĵo de rekordoj. En la listo aperas ekzemple la plej alta homo, plej maljuna homo, plej granda piedo, plej longa kolbaso, ktp. En ĝi troviĝas ankaŭ kuriozaj atingoj. Multaj rekordoj estas starigitaj nur kun la celo listiĝi en la libro.

La unua libro aperis en 1955 en Anglio, komisie de la Guinness-bierfarejo. La ideo pri la libro naskiĝis ĉe la gvidanto de la bierfarejo. Post mispafo dum ĉasado je orpluvio okazis debato pri la plej rapida birdo de la mondo.

La unuan eldonon verkis la ĝemeloj Ross kaj Norris McWhirter. Intertempe ĝi aperas ĉiujare en multaj lingvoj.

Dumtempe la Guinness-libro estis la plej ofte vendata kopirajto-protektita libro en la mondo, kaj tiel ĝi mem aperis en la libro. Nur la Biblio (kaj eble la Korano) estas pli grandkvante vendata.

Por aperi en la libro, oni devas plenumi diversajn kondiĉojn kaj anonci sin al la londona oficejo.

Ĉar ĉiujare estiĝas ĝis 2000 novaj rekordoj, eĉ ne ĉiu daŭre valida rekordo povas esti ĉiujare publikigata en la papera eldono (kiu havas nur ĉirkaŭ 290 paĝojn).

Listigitaj rekordoj pri Esperanto

La rekordlibro listigas Esperanton kiel solan lingvon, kiu ne havas neregulajn verbojn[1]

Almenaŭ en la germanlingva eldono 1997 (aŭ 1998) de la rekordlibro troviĝas la esperantlingva poeto Jan Stanisław Skorupski kiel aŭtoro de plej multaj sonetoj (2928 poemoj ene de du jaroj kaj duono)[2].

Ankaŭ la esperantlingva muzikisto JoMo eniris la rekordlibron. En la eldono 2000 li registriĝis pri kantado en plej multaj lingvoj - li prezentis 22 kantojn en 22 lingvoj[3].

Papera eldono de la libro (ĉ. 2005/2010) mencias, ke Esperanto estas unu el la tri plej facilaj lingvoj de la mondo[4].

Esperanto enestas en pluraj rekordoj rilate al lingvoj. Ekzemple la kanto kantata en plej multe da lingvoj (fakte: 125 lingvoj) estas kantata ankaŭ en Esperanto.[5] (Ankaŭ la stenografo kapabla stenografi en plej multaj lingvoj, prof. d-ro Neubauer, faras tion ankaŭ en Esperanto.)
