Guglielmo da Piacenza aŭ "Saliĉeto da Bolonjo" (1210-1277) estis itala kuracisto, kirurgo, profesoro en la Universitato de Bolonjo kaj unu el la plej grandaj majstroj de la kirurgio en Mezepoko. Li estis fundamenta en la starigo de iu medicina lernejo en Bolonjo. Lia "Kirurgio" estis alte origina kaj ne bazita sur antaŭaj skribaĵoj.[1]. Li probable dissekcis homajn restaĵojn por plibonigi siajn konojn. Li rekomendis la uzon de la kirurgia tranĉilo por kaŭterizo kaj vundoj. Li estis lernanto de Ugo de' Borgognoni kaj lia disĉiplo Lanfranko da Milano portis al Francio liajn metodojn.

Vivo

Vilhelmo de Saliĉeto studis en Bolonjo kaj estis lernanto de Ugo de' Borgognoni tie iĝante "Magister in physica" ("Majstro pri medicino"). Tiuepoke la kursoj pri medicinaj studoj identiĝis al tiu pri filozofio, specife tiu natura, kaj la kuracisto aŭ "physicus" klare distingiĝis el la kirurgo kiu retenis empiriajn konceptojn.

Post longaj vojaĝoj kaŭze de la tiamaj politikaj malstabilecoj li definitive fiksiĝis en Bolonjo kiel "Master chirurgiae" (Majstro pri Kirurgio). En sia verko "Chirurgia", verkita "ad petitionem domini Frideric imperatoris" (laŭ peto de la imperiestro Frederiko), li parolas pri la graveco rilate al konado de la anatomio, laŭ la tradicio de la bolonja lernejo de la familio Borgognoni kaj Mondino dei Liuzzi, fundamenta por la kirurgia arto, kiun cetere li priskribas per mirinda maniero. En sia "Liber in scientia medicinali" li elmontras siajn bonajn konojn pri la medicino.
