Dharamvir BHARATI (25a de Decembro 1926 – 4a de Septembro 1997) estis fama Hindia poeto, verkisto, dramaturgo kaj socia pensulo de Barato. Li estis ĉef-redaktoro de la populara Hindia ĉiusemajna gazeto Dharmayug,[1] el 1960 ĝis 1987.[2]

Bharati ricevis la premion Padma Shree pri literaturo en 1972 el la Registaro de Barato. Lia romano Gunahon Ka Devta (La dio de pekoj) iĝis klasikaĵo. La verko de Bharati nome Suraj ka Satwan Ghoda (La sepa ĉevalo de la suno) estas konsiderata unika eksperimento en rakontado kaj estis adaptita en samnoma filmo kiu ricevis la Nacian Filmopremion en 1992 fare de Shyam Benegal. Andha Yug (La blinda epoko), teatraĵo kies agado okazas tuj post la milito de Mahabarato, estas klasikaĴo kiu estas ofte ludata de teatraj grupoj.

Li ricevis la premion Sangeet Natak Akademi pro teatroverkado (hindia) en 1988, atribuita de la Sangeet Natak Akademi, nome Nacia Akademio de Muziko, Danco kaj Teatro de Barato.[3]
