UncleDouggie last edited Wikipedia 14 years ago. I had been using this script. It is now broken. It displays a pulldown menu next to each item in the watchlist where no pulldown should be. The script has not been changed so this is some side effect caused elsewhere. I can live without the script, but damned it took me 20 minutes to figure out which script was doing this. I would like to see this script retired somehow, so this does not continue to snag other editors. It's ranked #249 Wikipedia:User_scripts/Ranking, listed at Help:Watchlist, and various other places. -- GreenC 05:17, 15 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It could probably be fixed if someone step debugged it, forked it, then made the fix. Posting at WP:US/R might help attract a volunteer developer for this. I loaded it up real quick hoping it'd be something easy. I do see some WP:CONSOLEERRORs for trying to parse various logs (protection log, deletion log, etc.), but errors parsing logs doesn't necessarily explain why the options panel and every line in the watchlist is hidden. –Novem Linguae (talk) 05:37, 15 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering if someone could help me test User:Phlsph7/WikiNarrator, a script to read articles aloud. I had to implement various workarounds to get it to function and I'm curious to learn whether they work for others as well or just for my setup. You would have to install the script, visit an article, and check whether it manages to read a few paragraphs from start to end without breaking off in the middle. No script needed just yet, but an estimate of difficulty of development of a user script designed to fill in the edit summary field based on 2 or 3 user inputs as described at this discussion would be much appreciated. The description of the desired script behavior is collapsed under a khaki horizontal bar labeled, Possible UX for easier creation of attribution edit summary. 30–120 minutes. Looks pretty easy using JQuery and basic HTML. The section you linked does a good job of laying out exactly what the programmer needs to do.
