I've literally never seen a "soft redirect to wikitionary," something that wasn't even brought up in the actual AfD discussion as a result of a DICDEF AfD. In case you don't check on such things before building a set, there are several important events occurring this week on the Islamic calendar. The Hajj begins Tuesday, September 22 while Eid al-Adha begins the next day. Assuming everything runs smoothly between now and then, the next set in Prep 4 should move to the Main page at 00:00 22 September (UTC). There are several hooks dealing with the Armenian Genocide that would be best avoided on these days unless there is an explicit reason the hook should run on a specific date (the most obvious being Template:Did you know nominations/Reşid Akif Paşa). Conversely, if you see a pro-Islamic hook you might consider saving it for these dates. There is no problem if you do not find any or place them in sets for other dates. Cracked.com has "matured" quite a bit from what you might consider it. Regardless, their "personal experience" series includes original interviews of sources with first hand information on the topics as well as citations of primary, "traditional" sources. Don't look at it so much as coming from "Cracked", but coming from their interviewee, in this case a professional BDSM practitioner. It is an incredible source that specifically refutes and criticizes Fifty Shades for its depiction of bondage, and how E.L. James completely misunderstands the dynamics of these relationships. And all this from someone, a professional, with first hand knowledge of BDSM and years of experience. I think it should be allowed to stand. This quote in the "Controversies" is as concise and complete as I've found in summing up Fifty Shades' failure to understand bondage and the BDSM community as a whole. Importantly, said quote comes directly from the source, it's not Cracked's interpretation or summation of what she said.

It depends on how you define "matured". Still, I do not think this source is suitable for backing up such statements, and the Controversies section on the Fifty Shades of Grey article has already been considered WP:UNDUE, so I would not really want to expand it so much. sst^flyer 04:53, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

Your AfD statistics are not good, with a hit rate lower than 65%. Will you avoid closing deletion discussions (at least before gaining more experience) if you become an admin?

I appear to be the only one having trouble following your reasoning. Anyone can get a hit rate of 90% or higher by simply waiting until the middle of the discussion and adding a keep/delete based on what the majority have previously opined prior to this close. Are you encouraging this kind of narrow groupthink by evaluating a hit rate based on how well one agrees with others? A lower hit rate shows independent thought that isn't subject to peer pressure or conformity, a much greater community value than conformity. AfD's are not an exercise in team building. You're basically marginalizing dissent in your elevation of hit rates, dissent which could radically change the outcome of an erroneous consent or shift the balance into no consensus -- the percentage of which you don't even include in your so-called "hit rate". I have followed and participated in numerous AfD's where the majority was wrong and this wasn't rectified until months, sometimes years later. And yet by your count, an editor who conformed to error rather than dissenting towards correction, would be more suitable as an admin. You can't be serious! There is a reason why I voted Support for this RfA. I admit that my question may be poorly constructed, but since Montanabw herself noted that she favors inclusionism, and other voters in the RfA noted that she frequently voted Keep for articles that fail notability guidelines, I don't think it is so much of a problem. sst^flyer 01:50, 19 September 2015 (UTC)

I mostly agree, but the focus on unimportant things like hit rates leads to the gamification of RfA. Avoid controversial articles, don't get in any disputes, and conform to the opinions of others and you've got a sure shot at RfA. This reinfores the iron law of oligarchy, with admins as an elite class who strangely enough, work to undermine democratic initiatives, policies, and guidelines, with the end result that they focus more on tightening their own power and control. SSTflyer, I was surprised to see that you passed this article so quickly. You may or may not know that I expressed concerns on the WT:GAN page that it did not meet the requirements of WP:LEAD (it does not, in my view, touch on the History section material and should), and looking at it the requirements of WP:LAYOUT, in particular the placement of images, don't seem to have been adhered to. Both of these are criteria in 1b on the review form you used, and I believe there is still work to be done here—not difficult work, certainly addressable in the standard "hold" period, but not yet to GA standard.

I'm also concerned that it doesn't meet the broadness criteria. I would expect an article about a program such as this to discuss how it came to be. I don't know whether the Coast Guard asked Congress for it or it was a Congressional initiative, why Grand Haven was specified in the legislation that authorized the program, and so on. Also, the broadness criteria of GA is different from the comprehensiveness requirement of FA. For a start, the title "Controversies of Fifty Shades of Grey" is meaningless in English. Maybe "Controversy relating to..." would have some merit. But in any case, "controversies" does not imply negativity any more than "Critical response" does.
