Hello

I noticed that you have been working on some health-related subjects, and I want to invite you to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine. You're welcome to join us if it's a subject area that interests you. It's a good place to ask questions about finding good sources for medical content or writing style. Feel free to put the group's page on your watchlist, or stop by to say hello some time. WhatamIdoing (talk) 19:22, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It started today on Monday June 16 and will run until Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible!♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:15, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Venezuelan science communicators has been nominated for merging

Category:Venezuelan science communicators has been nominated for merging. A discussion is taking place to decide whether it complies with the categorization guidelines. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments at the category's entry on the categories for discussion page. Thank you. please populate the categories you make with more than one person SMasonGarrison 12:09, 21 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Smasongarrison I'm sorry for the mistakes. Is there a rule that you can point me to? Unfortunately, I have never come across it.
In any case, I also created these categories with the rationale that a related category already existed on other Wikipedias, for example in this case: es:Categoría:Divulgadores científicos de Venezuela. Digressivo (talk) 18:29, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's fine. There are general guidelines and consistent consensus that categories should have more than one page in them. WP:BEFORECAT might be helpful. The issue is that there aren't enough people in the category on English wikipedia. I tried to populate them, but as a rule of thumb, there should be several pages. If you can't find enough pages to populate the category, then the category probably doesn't need to exist yet. SMasonGarrison 22:09, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Smasongarrison thank you. I'm still a little confused about something: I just noticed that the category contains not just a single page, but also a sub-category (Category:Venezuelan science writers). Does that still make it a candidate for merging? Digressivo (talk) 22:47, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Very reasonable question! It's still a candidate, and the CFD will debate the merits of whether there's added value to this communicator category. I think that it's debatable given that the only person in the category is also in Category:Venezuelan science writers SMasonGarrison 01:39, 23 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
