Thank you for your feedback. I have reviewed the references and resolved the issues in Draft:Kanwal Aftab that were causing them not to display or link properly. The sources are now correctly formatted and verifiable.

Kindly have another look at the draft, and if everything seems in order, please consider moving it back to the mainspace. Alternatively, let me know if I should move it myself.

Best regards, Behappyyar (talk) 05:11, 2 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Behappyyar  Done I've moved it back to mainspace. I feel like the article needs a lot of improvements but it could survive. I reccomend putting work in. Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 16:07, 2 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

An article you patrolled

Hey Scaledish, I've just draftified an article you marked as patrolled, Senate Committee on Banking/Insurance (now at Draft:Senate Committee on Banking/Insurance). I draftified it because none of the news sources it cited are real, which may be a sign of LLM use. LLMs often hallucinate fake links. There are other signs in that article that point to LLM use, such as the heading style, bulleted lists, tone, and reference placement. Please be careful in future not to mark such articles as reviewed. Best, Toadspike [Talk] 17:23, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Toadspike: Oops you're right. That was a serious failure on my part. I had previously reviewed House Committee on the Army, which, while on rereview still has the hallmarks of being AI generated, cites existing sources (I believe they retroactively found sources to substantiate the AI generated content). I think this review was acceptable. A spot check of a few sources shows the sourcing is fine. Where I went wrong is, following that review and failing to give the writing style due weight (I chalked it up to them likely being Nigerian) I became increasingly confident with them and sped through their remaining articles. This was egregiously erroneous on my part, as the autopatrolled permission exists for exactly this reason, and they don't have it. Since this notification, I have redone all my reviews of their articles and draftified 4 more. The list of drafts is in my log, and additionally on User talk:Cameremote. This incident is also being logged in User:Scaledish/Mistakes. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 19:36, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@GlundleFoot In the top right corner you should see "Read," "Edit," and "History" buttons. Question from Jazzee Bamiere (15:45, 7 June 2025)

Hi Scaledish! I just created my sandbox draft for my artist Wikipedia page under the name Jazzee Bamiere. I’m ready to move forward but I’d love help with reviewing it and understanding how to properly add citations and external links without getting flagged. I also want to make sure it’s eligible to eventually go live. Can you take a look and guide me through the next steps? Thank you in advance! --Jazzee Bamiere (talk) 15:45, 7 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Scaledish! I’ve created a sandbox draft under the name Jazzee Bamiere, and I’d love your help reviewing it. Question from Jazzee Bamiere (16:00, 7 June 2025)

Hi Scaledish,

Here’s a refined summary of my draft for the Jazzee Bamiere article, and I’d love your feedback on whether this structure works and meets the notability standard.

Jazzee Bamiere (born in Baltimore, Maryland) is an American rapper, actress, and entrepreneur. She is known for her cinematic stage style, vintage glamour aesthetic, and sharp lyrical delivery blending hip-hop and R&B.

Career

I plan to include details about her live performances, music releases, and media coverage — all backed with strong references, not just external links.

Notability

Her credentials include awards like the Baltimore Crown Award: Female Hip-Hop Artist of the Year (2021) and multiple press features (WPGC 95.5, DASH Radio, etc.). I’ll also include interviews, podcast appearances, and verifiable event flyers.

Can you confirm if this structure is appropriate and meets the criteria for eventual publication? Also, are there any adjustments you’d recommend before I continue expanding the sandbox draft?

Thanks in advance for your time and support! — Jazzee Bamière --Jazzee Bamiere (talk) 16:00, 7 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Jazzee Bamiere (16:40, 7 June 2025)

Hi Scaledish,

I’m working on my sandbox draft for my artist page, Jazzee Bamière, and I’ve begun organizing the structure to meet Wikipedia’s formatting standards. Below is the working outline I’m using for the article draft:

  • Early Life
  • Career
    • 2018–2019: Early performances
    • 2020–2021: All-Female Cypher & Recognition
    • 2022–Present: Media & Expansion
  • Discography
  • Style and Influences
  • Awards
  • References

I’d love your guidance on the next steps for citations, confirming notability, and formatting everything properly to meet article requirements for publishing. Let me know if this format looks solid or if I should make any adjustments. Thank you in advance!

User:Jazzee Bamiere --Jazzee Bamiere (talk) 16:40, 7 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Jazzee Bamiere Your organization looks fine. The draft on your user page looks ok although its been duplicated twice. However
  1. Seriously consider that writing articles on yourself is heavily discouraged: WP:ABOUTME
  2. You currently have no references to establish notability. To be considered notable, multiple reliable, indiependent sources must have written about you. A quick google search makes me believe this isn't the case, however if you could provide some maybe you could change my mind. But again, even so, writing about yourself is heavily discouraged.

Question from Cassius Brutus (21:38, 11 June 2025)

I created an account after reading a biography on Marcus Camillus and saw that the author wasn't listed as a source. I quite enjoyed the book and thought it was well researched and found the author has other books. I went to add this book to the Camillus wiki page and found that it had been removed as a modern source from the page due to a person believing the author is an unreliable source. I undid the edit, because I know this to be inaccurate, given the author's online presence. This individual continues to believe and misrepresent the author and at this point I'm not sure if it's a personal problem or not. I just felt like the author should be listed as a modern source. Advice? --Cassius Brutus (talk) 21:38, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Cassius Brutus first an aside, User:Kansas Bear warning you about Edit Warring when they themselves were at the other end of the war feels a little WP:BITEey and hypocritical to me, even though, at the same time, it is good that they made you aware about the edit warring policy which I assume, being a newcomer, you werent aware of. What they probably shound have done is hand written a note along the lines of 'Just so you know, both me and you have hit the 3RR and we need to both stop to avoid warring'.
Anyway, for your question, both of you seem literate so there is little use in forming an opinion myself, being unfamilar with this particular topic and source. Whoever is right, both of you have exactly equal ground to stand on, as you are both at your 3rd revert. Just because they are more experienced doesn't mean their opinion overrides yours (though they may be more familar with the policy that formulated it). I do not know why the other person said Pen & Sword isn't reliable, however they were right to suggest taking it to WP:RSN. You can open a discussion there and other editors will review the material and provide their own opinions on if its reliable. If they decide in your favour it can be added. Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 19:04, 13 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to read this.[1] --Kansas Bear (talk) 19:20, 13 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Kansas Bear Ok, like I said I'm not making claims about who is correct here. When I said 'I do not know why the other person said Pen & Sword isn't reliable' I was just elaborating on why I won't pass judgement. All I was trying to do was explain to this new editor that the policy applies equallty to everyone. If the editor chooses to open a notice at RSN, this talk page discussion is of course important context. Even if it goes in your favor (I don't know nor care the likelyhood either way), it is a good learning experience. Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 03:16, 14 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Eswinney, thanks for reaching out, I hope your internship is going well. You're doing great so far, good disclosure on your profile. The safest thing to do is to follow the general guidence here: WP:COIER, and the technical guidence here: Template:RE/I. The gist is that you want to put the template on the talk page, which alerts editors to check, and then clearly communicate what you'd like to change. For instance, "Please change the founding date from 1600 to 1982 [citation]", and an editor will do it for you. Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 02:15, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Kcbeardman Thank you so so much for reaching out instead of editing a live page. Believe it or not we actually have a guide for this at Wikipedia:How to vandalize correctly. Your best shot would be to fabricate a fake screenshot. To do this, I would create an article in Special:MyPage/sandbox with whatever content you want and, after saving, using inspect element to change the page title before taking a screenshot. Your friends would be non-the-wiser because if they went looking for the page you could just say "it probably got reverted." Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 21:39, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from MarcelSwanepoel (14:23, 9 July 2025)

Thanks. I'm making some edits to build trust in order to add my production company, Epitome Studios, to Wikipedia. Any tips on how I can do this? --MarcelSwanepoel (talk) 14:23, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@MarcelSwanepoel all the trust in the world wouldn't change the following considerations:
  1. All articles must adhere to our notibility standards (Wikipedia:Notability)
  2. All articles must follow our conflict of interest editing requirements (Wikipedia:COIE)
If your only motivation for editing wikipedia is to "build trust" before performing a certain action, you should stop. See Wikipedia:AKON and Wikipedia:Hat collecting. If you are here to earnestly improve the encyclopedia, do that. If you are only here to promote Epitome Studios, and you believe Epitome Studios is notable, you should create a draft and disclose your COI. Wikipedia:Article wizard can help you with this. Humble request for review of Draft:Orkhevi (settlement in Tbilisi)

Dear @Scaledish,

Thank you for review of my small article Tetrikhevi! If and when you're free, could I ask you to review my draft Draft:Orkhevi (settlement in Tbilisi)? It's been on review for 7 days without any reviewers to look through it. It's a bit huge with 144 sources to authoritative sources so far. David Osipov (talk) 08:40, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@David Osipov Thanks for letting me know. I'm a wee busy this week so I may not get around to it, but its on my list! Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 01:13, 12 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Maydavies85 (01:49, 16 July 2025)

Hello,

I would love to be able to add ‘Production Designer’ of a film to the details box that is at the top right of a Wikipedia page when you search for a film.

It details the director, cinematographer, editor but not the production designer who is up there in importance with the director and cinematographer. They work as a triangle with the production designer creating the whole visual world for a film.

How can this be added please? --Maydavies85 (talk) 01:49, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Maydavies85 Please open a discussion at Template Talk:Infobox film advocating for this. Here is an example

It's not the most blatent NPOV violation I've ever seen. I'd suggest trimming the article considerably because the fluff is really where its questionable. Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 23:49, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

RayRayM1604's mentor MPGuy2824 is away.

Hey, I made this Wikipedia page called "Ali Damoush", could you please keep it locked to prevent vandalism, thanks. --RayRayM1604 (talk) 23:41, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@RayRayM1604: I'm back from being off-wiki, so I thought I might as well answer this question and save Scaledish some time.
On Wikipedia, articles aren't protected until there is a demonstrated need for protection. In this case only two edits besides yours have been made to the page and neither is vandalism. If the page is vandalized multiple times, then feel free to ping me or Scaledish, and we'll be happy to request page protection OR show you how to do that yourself. Happy editing! -MPGuy2824 (talk) 03:41, 24 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Шахматист2025 (15:47, 1 August 2025)

Hello! I've been working on an article about the Russian third-tier hockey league. It has one article in English (VHL-B), but two in Russian (ru:Первенство Всероссийской хоккейной лиги and ru:Российская хоккейная лига (2011—2015). I tried to connect them by adding Template:Interwiki extra to the English article, but apparently nothing happened: no new interwikis appeared and the Wikidata pages haven't changed. What (if anything) am I doing wrong? --Шахматист2025 (talk) 15:47, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Шахматист2025 I'm super sorry,I'm not very familiar with this, however checking now I see that the article is listed as available in 9 other languages. Is that what you wanted? It may have been a cache issue. Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 18:43, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think so, those are the links that had been there already. Шахматист2025 (talk) 21:20, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Шахматист2025 What exactly is missing / what do you expect to happen? Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 18:30, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ideally something like a "three-way interwiki" where the English article links to two Russian ones, or at least the two Russian articles have links to the English one. Шахматист2025 (talk) 13:27, 5 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Initially I think this may not be possible to have 2 articles in the same language connected to the one wikidata item. I have asked people more experienced and will follow up. Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 21:11, 6 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Шахматист2025 I've asked around and really all you an do is add the Interwiki extra to ru:Российская хоккейная лига (2011—2015) Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 21:31, 7 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That worked. Thank you for your help! Шахматист2025 (talk) 00:53, 8 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Clemens Purner on Wikipedia:Help desk (13:52, 4 August 2025)

Clemens Purner's mentor Sakura emad is away.

Hi! I am completely confused. about a month ago I've submitted an article. It said back then it's take a couple of weeks to be reviewed. I just checked to see if it's online, but I can't find the article at all anymore. it's looks like it never existed. Can you help me here? thank you Clemens --Clemens Purner (talk) 13:52, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Clemens Purner Special:Contributions/Clemens Purner shows you have no contributions. I don't see anything indicating deletion on your talk page. Are you positive this is the account you used? The only activity I see is here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special%3AContributions%2FClemens_Purner. If you are really sure this is the case I can ask an admin to look into it maybe. Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 18:29, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I am indeed sure I made the contribution. I dont have any other unser account, also the uploaded photo is in direct relation to the account. I clearly remember editing the article, adjusting it, seeing it in the preview window, as well as seeing the "waiting for review etc screen after submitting". Would you be able to find any pending articles based on the name/content? I'd be very happy if you could ask an admin to look into it thank you! Clemens Purner (talk) 09:13, 6 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Clemens Purner Hi, I'm terribly sorry but I think there must have been some technical mishap. What is the title of the deleted page? I conducted a search assuming it was "Emma Hartvig" and can search again for something different if you know the exact title name. But as of now:
  1. There are only two mentions of the text "Emma Hartvig" across all of english wikipedia. One is the image you uploaded. Note that deleted body text would not appear in this search.
  2. The page "Emma Hartvig" has never been deleted
  3. The admin named User:Joyous! searched your contribution history on english wikipedia. Unlike users such as myself, admins can view edits a user made which were deleted. Even if a page was deleted, they can see it. In this case they don't see any edits you made which were deleted.
The most likely thing I can imagine is you accidentally submitted the page without being logged in so these edits wouldn't appear under your account, but rather the IP. I've never heard of this being caused by a technical issue. If you tell me the page name I can do one final search for those (public) deletion logs for the page itself. (Please note that the page name must be exact in this case.) Otherwise, I hope you still have a draft somewhere else, or at the very least it won't be too much effort to rewrite? I'm sorry this happened. Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 20:56, 6 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators' newsletter – August 2025

News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2025).

Guideline and policy news

  • Following a request for comment, a new speedy deletion criterion, G15, has been enacted. It applies to pages generated by a large language model (LLM) without human review.
  • Following a request for comment, there is a new policy outlining the granting of permissions to view the IP addresses of temporary accounts. Temporary account deployment on the English Wikipedia is currently scheduled for September 2025, and editors can request access to the permission ahead of time. Admins are encouraged to keep an eye on the request page; there will likely be a flood of editors requesting the permission when they realize they can no longer see IP addresses.

Question from PonyKnows (12:01, 13 August 2025)

Hi Mentor, hope you are fine!

Pony here. Quick question > do you know of a reference or guideline on how to determine if a single movie character merits their own Wikipedia page? For instance, the Dragon from Shrek has its own page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_(Shrek)

Although Dragon isn’t a main character, it still has enough notability for a page.

I’d like to submit one for Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High > I’m a big fan > but my submission was rejected. Could you help me understand what standards define when a character qualifies for a standalone article and perhaps how to implement one properly?

Thanks a bunch! --PonyKnows (talk) 12:01, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Doing well! There needs to be significant coverage in multiple reliable sources. Think entire articles about the character. When I look Jeff Spicoli up, all I can really find is coverage of all characters together in one article, not him exclusively.
Thanks Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 19:04, 14 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from RobertoBriago (15:29, 30 August 2025)

Hi there,

I would appreciate your help with the following issue:

I want to link the article — https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atrahasis — to Wikimedia item Atra-Hasis (Q530320) — Atrahasis myth.

However, I mistakenly linked it to Atra-Hasis (Q757719) — Protagonist in the myth Atrahasis. It seems I do not have sufficient privileges to remove the incorrect link from Q757719.

Could you assist me in correcting this link?

Thank you for your time and help.

Best regards,

Roberto. --RobertoBriago (talk) 15:29, 30 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
