If nobody minds, i might split this template up slightly into current stations and disused stations, although i could do with some checking after in case i have missed any. One could argue there already is Category:Disused railway stations in Greater Manchester so there is no need to split. OTOH, the very same category could be used to make sure the split is done correctly :-)

The disused stations list was getting unwieldy - it was occupying more height than the nine lists of open stations put together. There was potential for a further increase, since I don't think that the Wigan area has been checked properly; that might yield even more closed stas.
