I have been reading about these 4-8-2 locos, "arguably one of the most technically advanced steam locos of the post WW2 years". Apparently a further 25 were built for North Korea in 1951.
We don't seem to have an article on them - or have I missed one by another title? I formally propose that we automate link updates or shut down the Recent changes subpage, most links have not been updated there in 18 years. I suspect that some time in 2006, Slambo (talk·contribs) decided that it was too much of a task to keep maintained. We could send the whole set to WP:MFD. --Redrose64 🦌 (talk) 21:37, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20241230213700","author":"Redrose64","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Redrose64-20241230213700-Cards84664-20241230202300","replies":["c-Thryduulf-20241230230000-Redrose64-20241230213700"]}}-->

It seems like it should be a relatively easy bot job to update from Category:All WikiProject Trains pages. However, I'm not sure if there's any bot set up to do that. Do any other Wikiprojects use this style of recent changes tracking? There are lots of WikiProjects with Recent changes pages in their space, but at first glance all appear defunct. Some examples from the first couple of pages of my search results:
No project appears to have as many subpages with "recent changes" in the title as WikiProject trains does. More than one directs readers who stumble upon the page to look at Article alerts, although this does a different (if related) job.
It seems like it should be a relatively easy bot job to update from Category:All WikiProject Trains pages. I agree. If there isn't a bot that currently does this, then it seems like it will be pretty straightforward for someone with the appropriate skills to create one. Generating lists of pages is almost always regarded as a non-controversial bot task. Greetings, in my wanderings around Wikipedia, I came across Qingdao–Jinan through train. While searching for sources, I found these additional articles (which I added into See also section):
Qingdao–Jinan Railway – the older "conventional" railway running along the Jiaoji passenger railway
Since I am not familiar with the topic, I am asking for help here. Wondering if any duplication, and if so maybe combine articles? I would appreciate advice on the Notability of train stations. I am aware of the general advice, Wikipedia:NTRAINSTATION, which states that stations do not have inherent Notability. I am therefore assuming one needs to look at:
Is there sufficient coverage in a range of reliable sources?
The context, i.e. the station's historic/current position as a stopping point on a wider network;
Its history e.g. is it a historic building, demonstrated by (in the UK) being listed?
Anything else?
I can ask at the Helpdesk, but this seemed an appropriate starting point. Any advice gratefully received. You have the right idea. Stations that are in active use have more leeway that disused stations. Flag stops without structures probably aren't notable. If there's no article about the physical line that the station is on (and the station is active) then that should probably be written first.
