Small Prophets is an upcoming British comedy television series written and directed by Mackenzie Crook. PremiseSet in Manchester, a man whose girlfriend disappeared seven years previously is given a recipe for Homunculi, a potion that helps foretell the future.[1] Cast
ProductionThe sitcom is written and directed by Mackenzie Crook and produced by Gill Isles.[2] The six-part series also contains animation from Ainslie Henderson and Will Anderson.[3] It was announced as a commission by the BBC in May 2025.[4] The series is produced by Treasure Trove and Blue House. Crook is also an executive producer alongside Lisa Thomas, Christine Gernon and Emma Strain.[5] The cast is led by Pearce Quigley and also contains Crook, Sir Michael Palin, Lauren Patel, Sophie Willan and Jon Pointing. Filming began in the Manchester area in 2025.[6] References
