SOULM8TE

SOULM8TE (pronounced "Soulmate") is an upcoming American science fiction erotic thriller^[1] film directed by Kate Dolan from a screenplay by Rafael Jordan and Dolan, based on a story by James Wan, Ingrid Bisu and Jordan. A spin-off of M3GAN (2022) and the third installment in the M3GAN franchise, the plot will follow a man who buys an android to cope with the death of his wife. It stars Lily Sullivan, David Rysdahl, Claudia Doumit and Oliver Cooper. Jason Blum and James Wan serve as producers under their Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster banners.

SOULM8TE is scheduled to be released in the United States on January 9, 2026, by Universal Pictures.

In June 2024, it was announced that a spin-off of M3GAN (2022) was in development. Kate Dolan signed on to direct and rewrite the original draft by Rafael Jordan,^[2] that was based on a story by James Wan, Ingrid Bisu and Jordan.^[2] In August, Lily Sullivan,^[3] David Rysdahl,^[4] and Claudia Doumit joined the cast.^[5] Principal photography had been completed by November 2024.^[6] In March 2025, Oliver Cooper, Steve Chusak, Ossian Perret, Emma Ramos, Isabelle Bonfrer, Robert Ashe, Jon Tarcy, Harleen Sahota, and Charlie Kranz rounded out the cast.^[7] Narayan Van Maele served as the cinematographer,^[8] while John Cutler edited the film.^[9]

SOULM8TE is scheduled to be released in the United States on January 9, 2026, by Universal Pictures.^[10] It was previously set for January 2.^[2]
